Behind the Scenes

Carl and Janet Ratcliff saw a need in their community and went to work. They established Care-A-Van, a non-profit service, to serve western Douglas County.

Care-A-Van is operated purely on donations and grants. The drivers are strictly volunteers, who donate their love and time to pick up residents, transport to appointments, wait in the waiting room or sit through afternoons with patients going through treatments, then safely deliver them back home.

This service is always totally free to our residents and has provided thousands of rides for clients of Western Douglas County for over 16 years.
